All of the islands around Cat Ba are limestone islands, which was created by the earthquake and big rain erosion. Because all of the islands were formed from dead organisms by corals, oyster's shells...or CaCO3 so by the time the islands were erosed, created a lot of caves, grottoes and largoons. There are few caves arounds Cat Ba of which Trung Trang Cave and Hospital Cave are the most beautiful ones.
